We have authored ten original articles on vintage costume in their two major aspects: as collectibles and as wearables. As will become clear from the articles and the item descriptions in our monthly updates, we see a continuum of techniques and looks in high style dress from the Romantic period to the present.
With a background in clothing construction and costume design, followed by a stint on Seventh Ave. as a print designer and pattern maker, I was attracted to vintage clothing as the most dynamic sector in the collectibles world. Over the years, as I have studied these couture and designer treasures, I have come to the realization that they represent—for fashionistas as well as collectors—the best of high style vintage fashion for clothing connoisseurs worldwide.

June 8, 2012—For valued clients over the years, I have been happy to provide to the future bride the gown she will wear on the most important day of her life. The updated Vintage Textile Brides page shows a selection of these gowns as first presented here and then in all their glory at the wedding.
