Silk crepe de chine evening dress, 1930s
The eye catching color and design justify making an effort to refresh the dress. Spend your time working on only the pieces with real potential.
Made from orange silk crepe de chine, the dress has diagonal seams that shape the torso. The cascading skirt ruffles and plunging back neckline make this beauty as interesting coming as going. One shoulder is decorated with a large black velvet bow.
The condition is very good. The dress is structurally sound, but it has some stains—see bottom picture. They may come out with cleaning, but this cannot be guaranteed with a vintage piece. It is priced well below the market to cover the risk.
It measures: 40" bust, 34" waist, 44" hip, and 53" from the shoulder to the front hem (longer in back).
