Maria Snyder mini dress

#6716          $750

Maria Snyder embroidered silk dress, early 1990s

Maria Snyder trained in sculpture and painting and was introduced to fashion when she modeled for Yves Saint Laurent in the 1980s. When she started her own design business in 1987, she drew inspiration from both jewelry and clothing.

Her clothing has been sold in Henri Bendel in New York and high end boutiques like Charivari, Linda Dressner, Carol Rollo and Maxfield's in Los Angeles, where she sold her first dress to Madonna.

Our dress is beautifully made in the tradition of high end fashion. Its decoration shows the whimsical eye of an artist. The circles reverse from gold outer rims on the front of the dress to silver outer rims on the back. This is a subtle yet piquant touch.

The dress is fashioned from heavy-weight black silk crepe and lined with black China silk. The padded, raised circles are embroidered with gold and silver cording and are outlined with iridescent glass beads. The dress closes in back with an invisible zipper.

The condition is excellent. It looks like it was never worn.

The size is marked 10. It measures: 38" bust, 32" waist, 40" hip, and 35" from the shoulder to the hem.
