Carved ivory folding parasol handle, 1860s
The finial and handle are beautifully carved with roses and leaves. I love the large furled leaf that forms the base of the handle. The shaft has a black silk cord tassel. Everything works; the handle just needs to be attached to a top.
The condition is almost excellent. There are two hairline cracks on the handle—you can see one in the detail picture below.
It measures 25 1/2" from the tip of the finial to the base of the handle.
