Ivory satin peignoir, 1940s
Fashioned from ivory satin and trimmed with beige cotton lace—this is fabulous Hollywood style! The generous full sleeves are gathered into lace cuffs that close with snaps. The peignoir closes in front with string ties and has triangular-shaped shoulder pads.
The condition is almost excellent. The peignoir looks like it was never worn. I have it in the Treasure Hunt because on one side of the bodice, there is a large but faint pink stain from storage.
I tried to show the stain in the 3rd from bottom picture, but the camera barely picked it up. The stain may come out with cleaning, but one cannot be sure. Otherwise, the peignoir can be described as mint.
It measures: 44" bust, 31" waist, 27" sleeve length (including the cuff), 16" from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, and 60" from the shoulder to the hem.
