Kenzo linen dress

#6814          $490

Kenzo printed linen dress, 1980s

The talented Japanese designer Kenzo Takada opened his first Jungle Jap boutique in Paris in the 1970s. He quickly moved on to add other boutiques, including the Kenzo-Paris Boutique in 1983. His multi-cultural design interpretations of ethnic fashions were an instant success.

The boldly printed linen shirt dress is a fine example of early Kenzo style. The square T-shape cut of the dress is closer to an 18th century man's shirt than to a modern woman's dress. The larger-than-life scale of the exotic tropical print is a delightful surprise, and the natural linen fiber has timeless appeal.

The dress has deep patch pockets in front, where the dress opens with small buttons. The shoulders have thin shoulder pads.

The condition is excellent. It is clean and ready to wear.

The size is marked M. It measures: 42" around and 40" from shoulder to hem.
