1950s party dress

#2251          $850  Sold

Silk/linen party dress, 1950s

The combination of red and navy blue is linked with the freshness of spring. (Navy looks glamorously chic again on the runways in Paris.) This perky dress leaves the dark, drab winter behind, showing a common theme of 1950s design: ladylike femininity with a sexy twist. In front, the crisp bodice is no nonsense; in back, it dips to a sexy, cut-out back.

There is no point is going to a party if you will not be the center of attention. In this stunning dress, cut to enhance your natural assets, all eyes will be on you.

The full circle skirt is fashioned from heavy navy silk faille and is supported with a built in partial taffeta petticoat. The red linen bodice has a matching red silk soft bra—see the bottom picture. The skirt cummerbund has an attached inner cummerbund that is boned for support.

The dress closes in back with self-bound buttonholes and three large buttons. The finishing exhibits the high quality expected in an expensive dress. The skirt closes with a hand-stitched metal zipper.

The condition is excellent. It is clean and ready to wear.

It measures: 36" bust, 25" waist, full in hip, 16 1/4" from the shoulder to the waist, and 29 1/2" skirt length.
